Go to the Interactive Campus Map to see
exterior photos of these buildings and to get driving directions.
Bashford and Thomson consist of double rooms with two single beds and
built-in desks and dressers. Bathroom facilities are shared by corridor
residents and encourage a warm community atmosphere. Bashford and Thomson
are single-sex by floor with men occupying two floors and women occupying
two floors.
Named in honor of Bishop James Bashford, fourth President of Ohio Wesleyan,
Bashford Hall provides living space for 136 men and women. Thomson Hall,
completed in 1954, houses 117 men and women and is named for Bishop Edward
Thomson, first President of Ohio Wesleyan.
For more information on Residential Life rules, regulations, policies,
and procedures, go to the Online
Student Handbook.
All residence halls are equipped with coin-operated washers and dryers.
Each residence hall room is furnished with the following: draperies, single
beds, mattresses, wastebaskets, desks and chairs, a dresser, and a telephone.
These items are assigned to the residents of the room and cannot be removed.
The University does not store issued furnishings.
Students should bring their own blankets, sheets,
towels, pillows, bedspread, study lamp, and throw rugs. An under-the-bed
chest (less than 10 inches in height) will be of value for storage. Cooking
is not permitted in rooms; kitchenettes, however, are available for student
use in most residence halls. Students will need to provide their own
dishes,
glasses, pots, pans, and silverware. Waterbeds are not permitted in
student rooms.
* NOTE EXCEPTION: THOMSON HALL HAS EXTRA LONG MATTRESSES AND WILL
NEED EXTRA LONG SHEETS.
Room assignments are made on the basis of the information provided on
the Housing Application returned by each student. If possible,
stated preferences for hall and/or roommate(s) are honored. Assignments
are made without regard to race, creed, or national origin. Students
will be notified of their room assignments in late July.
