The 150,000 square foot Conrades◊Wetherell
Science Center, the single largest construction
project in campus history, was dedicated in
October 2004. State-of-the-art facilities are
used by the Botany/Microbiology, Chemistry, Geology and Geography, Mathematics
and Computer Science, Physics
and Astronomy and Zoology departments, as well as the Environmental
Studies, Pre-Health
Studies, and Urban
Studies programs. The Hobson
Science Library, Schimmel Atrium, Moore
Greenhouse, well-equipped labs, and
an array of sophisticated equipment such as The Burns Scanning
Electron Microscope, Fourier transform
nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectrometers,
and a research petrographic microscope are housed
in the Science Center.
