Constructed in 1898, Slocum Hall served as the University
library until 1966. It is currently the home of the Admission, Financial Aid, International Admission,
as well as the Ancient,
Medieval, and Renaissance Studies, Black
World Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, and the Sagan National Colloquium programs. Slocum Hall also houses numerous student organization offices,
including The Transcript and the FM radio station WSLN.
It features what is perhaps the most classically beautiful spot on
campus:
the Slocum Reading Room, recently renovated in 2005, with its
Romanesque arcade and enormous, colorful stained glass skylight.
