[ Stuyvesant Hall ]

Go to the Interactive Campus Map to see an exterior photo of this building and to get driving directions.

Stuyvesant Hall is the oldest residence hall in use. Complete with a courtyard, a chime tower, a study room on each floor, a computer lab, and a smoker from the 1920s, Stuyvesant embodies the tradition of Ohio Wesleyan. It is coed by suite, consisting of two separate rooms sharing a private bathroom.

Completed in 1930 with a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Stuyvesant, the hall accommodates 255 men and women.

For more information on Residential Life rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, go to the Online Student Handbook.

[ University-Provided Furnishings ]

All residence halls are equipped with coin-operated washers and dryers. Each residence hall room is furnished with the following: draperies, single beds, mattresses, desks and chairs, a dresser, and a telephone. These items are assigned to the residents of the room and cannot be removed. The University does not store issued furnishings.

[ Student-Provided Furnishings ]

Students should bring their own blankets, sheets, towels, pillows, bedspread, study lamp, and throw rugs. An under-the-bed chest (less than 10 inches in height) will be of value for storage. Cooking is not permitted in rooms; kitchenettes, however, are available for student use in most residence halls. Students will need to provide their own dishes, glasses, pots, pans, and silverware. Waterbeds are not permitted in student rooms.

[ Room Assignments ]

Room assignments are made on the basis of the information provided on the Housing Application returned by each student. If possible, stated preferences for hall and/or roommate(s) are honored. Assignments are made without regard to race, creed, or national origin. Students will be notified of their room assignments in late July.
