The Social Sciences: Journalism
O
HIO WESLEYAN IS ONE OF THE FEW liberal arts colleges to offer an independent journalism major; we feel that the liberal arts tradition is one of the best assets a reporter can have. You’ll learn the practical skills of journalism, and your liberal arts experience will help you think more deeply and critically, ask better questions, and appreciate the concept of the public interest. The department focuses on print journalism, and if you major in journalism, you must also take five courses in another discipline to broaden your background and develop a specialty.
Major and Minor: Journalism
Beyond-the-classroom opportunities: Internship with student newspaper, The Transcript (required), directed reading, off-campus internships, The Philadelphia Center. Student board.
