The Social Sciences: Politics and Government

A S A POLITICS AND GOVERNMENT MAJOR, you’ll study political philosophy, American public affairs, political behavior, comparative politics and government, and international affairs, always fusing the theoretical with the practical. Politics and government professors also coordinate the interdisciplinary pre-law and pre-public administration majors, both of which require you to complete a second major as well. In pre-law you take specific public law courses and combine your politics and government study with courses in English, philosophy, history, and economics. In pre-public administration, you augment your politics and government courses with those in accounting, economics, geography, math, psychology, and sociology/anthropology.

Major and Minor: Politics and Government

Beyond-the-classroom opportunities: Independent study, directed reading, internships, Wesleyan in Washington, The Philadelphia Center, the Arneson Institute for Practical Politics and Public Affairs, Pre-Law Club, Pi Sigma Alpha (political science honorary society). Student board.
